Things like that pull at your heartstrings…and even cold and callous bastards like me…”get a little somethin’ in their eye” too.
omg. this messed me up!
Thanks, John – I just put on my makeup. Going to reapply now.
Yeah it is pretty sad. Makes me appreciate my parents more.
BTW, that little microphone looking thingee that lets everyone know that you’re online…what about if you’re like me? I have DSL and I usually leave my Xanga page up, even though I’m not really “on.” Then someone thinks I’m there and accuses me of ignoring them, “I know you’re there!!!” …and then I’d get all pissed off and say, “No I wasn’t!” Then they’d call me a liar and it would be Xanga’s fault! Or maybe I just have a difficult time adjusting to change….
Just some feedback. My two pesos.
@Xcholo4u - the online now icon only displays if you’ve clicked around xanga in the last five minutes. otherwise, it doesn’t show up. it definitely won’t show up if you just leave your xanga page up in the browser but haven’t clicked on it.
if your friends are giving you a hard time, you could turn off the setting? there’s an optout in the privacy settings page here:

Man. Seems she wanted to give to her kid in the only way she possibly could. It’s hard being disabled; can’t help yourself or those you care for. We really throw away our disabled people - skilled nursing facilities, nursing homes, they kinda just rot away the rest of their lives in those crap holes. A lot of the nurses don’t give a rat’s about the people they’re taking care of. We need to take care of our aging family members.
Awwww so sweet.
Awww, how sweet!!
Awwww…*sniff sniff*
Touching ^^.
thanks john… i teared up a lot. it’s creepy and yet, touching, too…
That is a sad and yet somewhat inspiring tale.
Awww.
This is very sad.
aww… that is so sad
sniff! :*(
very cool story… what a lucky kid to get to see how much and how often his mother thought of him
That is sad :-/
That’s very touching.
Most people do not get a gift like that from someone that they love who has died, I remember when my MIL gave me a candy dish that my dad gave her shortly before he died and told her to give it to me sometime in the future, she gave it to me right after I got married,I was so touched.
@john - Damn, that was going to be my excuse for it being lit up all the time.
That broke my heart in ways I can’t even explain.
that’s so sweet… sad, but sweet
damn
Agh, so sad! I definitely can’t watch this near my cycle.
So…darn…sad….
Nice john….u got me at animal crossing….(tear)
The video was excellent except for the fact the frames moved along a bit too fast. Anyway, that one was a 5 stars. Thanks for the link.
am i the only one who wasn’t bothered by the video but was rather bothered by the fact that the sound clip was from final fantasy?
@Drakonskyr - I think that makes me your buddy. (my buddy, my buddy, my buddy)
Based on the title alone, there is no way I’m gonna click to view that!
@cathleyaucla - it’s not gross at all… it’s a story about a kid and a mom.
that wuz really touching and cool b/c u dont really associate video games w/ this stuff.
I saw this awhile back but I didn’t realize there was a flash version – this makes me sad too because I play that game so much
you have amazing/good-looking friends!
OMG, I have to call my mom.
I play that game from time to time and that clip was really sad.. Thanks for posting it.

That video was great… Having played Animal Crossing myself and then getting away from it, I could only imagine if I got my grandparents or mom involved and then one of them died. Thanks for sharing.
My mum is in a similar situation. Last spring her condition degenerated to a point where she couldn’t really get out and about or leave the house. She’s also a widow, and although i try to be there to help her as much as possible, I know she gets really lonely sometimes. She used to tease me all the time about my blog, but finally decided to start her own xanga about a year ago- just to put her thoughts & memories down someplace.
Ever since then, this has become her little community, and now she has all kinds of interesting friends all over the world! I don’t think her xangapals really know the whole story behind the funny old lady who writes to them, but i guess it doesn’t matter. Everybody’s got their own story, you know?
Anyways, this reminded me of her and I thought I’d share : ) Xanga has done so much for my mom during a really tough year, and I wanted to say thanks.
thats sweet.
thanks for sharing that, it was very moving.
This one got me.
