  • I like the new one, it is much easier to read and everything is right there in front. The changes xanga is implementing is making me feel criminal, like I am getting all of this for way cheaper than it should be!

  • That’s the one I have bookmarked, and use all the time.  i wish there was a setting in my prefs to use that one instead of the new one so I can go back to using the links on the page.

  • Oh wow… I didn’t know you could still access the old one.  I think that i’m 50/50 as to which I prefer.  I definitely prefer the old main page unless I want to see how my friends who arent subs are doing…

    They both look the same to me, although the new one is “wider” and has more menu options on the left. It didn’t matter to me, either interface was fine with me. There wasn’t too much of a difference.

  • You just “stumbled upon” it?  Like, accidentally, “Oh how did I get here?”  The new one has only been out for a few months, it’s not that old.

    I like the new one better for images on the page.  I like the old one better for using on my PDA or cell phone.  I hate with a passion the new ads stuck in the middle of the subs page like a supposed blog entry.

  • Its a slow process.  Mostly because I complain before looking for the old feature on the new one, only to find the feature I wanted on the new page and then feeling sheepish for complaining in the first place.

  • you should let people manage their subs better, instead of having to manually delete every person who you don’t want you should have check boxes for deletion. Also, having multiple pages is annoying for the edit sub page because every time you delete someone, it takes you back to the beginning…

  • I like it either way. In the old one it didn’t even really bother me that the pictures didn’t show on my sub page. At least I had a good reason to go to that person’s blog to leave a footprint.

    But I must confess that I’m slow to start using all the new features. I know there are tons of stuff that would make my blog even cooler, but for some reason I prefer it “old skool”. Oh well, it takes all kinds…

  • The old one was ok but I like being able to see pictures in my sub page and I like the little feedback log at the top.

  • The new one is a lot lot better. How I wish there was an option to let the user decide how many entries is shown on one page! You know, for those of us with a lot of subs, so it wouldn’t be as annoying to keep clicking ‘next’

  • definitely the new subscription and private pages (esp the private page) are superior.  i’ve switched over completely.  i suppose the old page could feel nostalgic, since even a few weeks is like a millenium in the internet age.  but i still see xangans on my subs wondering how xanga changed so much.  and so suddenly.

  • I was trying to remember what the old subscription page looked like but I just couldn’t remember.  I really like the new one you have developed.

  • I think that after I grew accustomed to Windows Vista it was in fact the best version of Windows yet, yet Mac OS X is still better.

  • I dunno. The old subscriptions page wasn’t pretty, but it had an elegant simplicity. 

    Some of the new page designs (home, subs, etc) are quite cluttered & obviously built on the “boxes” like the new themes … but that can make information pretty hard to find. 

  • I’ve enjoyed the old one but am beginning to integrate the new one.  I am slow to change!

    I had an old account called efildrawkcabeht that I ran for about 2 years before I cancelled it this year to take a Xangattical. I saved all the entires to my computer, but shortly after, my hard drive crashed. Is there any way I can have the account restored?

  • I second snoochface’s comment about the ads – I think the ads in the middle of the subs page (especially after I spent the money to invest in xanga premium, so I wouldn’t have to see ads) is a little frustrating.  Isn’t it ironic (and a little unnecessary) to be advertising xanga to someone who has already paid for it?

    I didn’t know the old subs page was still available – I think I’ll probably go back to using that for now.

  • I read mine in email so I see no difference. Of course email is a day late.

    Instead I want to know why xanga thinks I would want a private page? Or I want to change my name and lose the few people who come by?

  • @BLB - Both of those features should be entirely optional? 

    About half of our US members are using the private page now.  Change username has been used by a much smaller number of people, but it’s been one of the most requested features over the years?

    I hope these features haven’t interfered with your use of xanga .  I’m sorry if they have…

  • Haven’t interferred in any way. I just don’t understand why I would want a private page when one had that option for a post if they wished.

  • lmao. I still use that one; in fact I reverted to the classic private page too, I like it better.
