The scariest dream of my life
We are doing an interesting promo for the horror movie, “The Uninvited” that I think is pretty neat. Basically we are hosting a contest where people blog about their scariest nightmare ever (and get 1000 credits). Then we read the top 25 rec’d and commented posts, and pick the best one! The winner gets to go to a special premiere in their hometown with a bunch of friends.
I’m not eligible to win (curses!), but I thought I’d kick things off. So without further ado, here is the story of my scariest nightmare ever:
The Scariest Nightmare of My Life, by xanga.com/johnOne afternoon maybe five years ago, I was at home chilling in my bed. I was exhausted and wanted to take a nap, but for some reason I couldn’t fall asleep. I was just lying there counting sheep, and waiting for the sleepies to hit.
But the zzz’s just weren’t coming, so I lay on the bed miserable and awake. At least I thought I was awake… unbeknownst to me, at some point I had actually fallen asleep! But in my dream, I was still lying down in the same bed, still trying to fall asleep.
At that very moment, a ghost started gliding by overhead. It wasn’t a scary ghost – just a floating spirit. Not coincidentally, the ghost looked exactly like the ghost from Raiders of the Lost Ark (after Indiana opens the ark and tells everyone to close their eyes but of course the Nazi’s don’t and they all get eaten). The ghost wasn’t too scary or anything, but definitely freaky. (In the picture to the right, I am the Nazi but I was lying down and I wasn’t wearing a Nazi uniform.)
Then *just* as the ghost was about to pass me, it glanced down and saw me. The ghost glided to a sudden stop. I held my breath, hoping against hope that it would just keep moving. But of course, the ghost wasn’t going to pass up on a good snack and decided to go for the kill. It transformed into a hideous demonic ghost with claws and sharp teeth and plunged down from the heavens to attack!!!
I had no idea I was still asleep, and that this was a dream. I was convinced that I was going to be killed by this demonic ghost viciously attacking me with its claws. I threw up my arms and legs to fight the demon, and started flailing about to try and knock it down so maybe I could run from the room (my strategy sucked, since the ghost could probably just phase right through the door. In my defense, I had never fought to the death with a ghost before.).
Of course by this point… I had completely woken up and found myself in the exact same spot as I was when I fell asleep. My poor wife (then girlfriend) was lying next to me, completely bewildered as to why I was screaming in total fear while thrashing at the empty air above me. She said that she’s never heard me (or anyone) scream like that… it was like out of a horror movie.
It was by far the scariest dream of my life. It’s been five years and since that day, I’ve barely had a single other dream. I guess that one dream scared all my other dreams away!
What’s the scariest nightmare you’ve ever had? Tell me in the comments… and then repost it to your site and get 1,000 credits!

I can’t read it! I can’t… I am just a big chicken and I know if I read it… when I walk out to my car at three in the morning in the dark that I won’t be ab;e to stop thinking whatever scary thing it is! So I’m sorry, but I’m passing… :-b
mine is posted, and believe it or not, completely true.
This is such a great idea!
I feel for you , I hate scary dreams!
Freaky dream! I actually had a similar one once and it seemed *completely* real. I dreamed a demon was hovering over my bed and then I woke up, looked up and saw it hovering still. It gave me chills and I started yelling in my sleep, which I never do. Then I *really* woke up and wasn’t exactly sure what happened. Scared me to death needless to say
dude why couldnt you just call the ghost busters meng..haha…i havent had a scary dream in ages….
ha ha, that would be pretty scary. Guess I’ll think about this. I dream all the time so it’s hard to pick one.
This is such a cool idea…I would love to see more contests like this.
@Blue_Dragon_Designs - Thanks! Yah we would too… the response is always tremendous
.
oh I’m gunna have to do this one.
I would enter because I think I might be able to be in the top recommend and top comment section but I don’t like scary movies. They give me scary nightmares.
@TheTheologiansCafe - Maybe your friends enjoy them tho?
@TheTheologiansCafe - Friends who live nearby?
@john - Just wondering, how long does it take for the 1,000 credits to show up?
I tried to enter the contest.. but I don’t think it worked? I’m not showing up on the entries page
and your dream is terrifying! I hate those, when you really think you’re awake because you’re doing what you did before you fell asleep!! ahh!
my scariest dream: i dreamt i had no college scholarships.
@The44thHour - @Fool0nThePlanet - The credits should show up right away and you should be entered in the contest! Did you publish it as public right away? You might want to try entering again…
@john - ok I’ll try entering again.
@CaKaLusa - ha, reality for me.
@john - Still nothing! oh well its just a little contest.
wow; thats creepy.
i can’t share mine; it’s based in reality and it’s more than i’d like to share with the entire Xanga world at once.
I’m gonna try this one…though I have to say that my dream is simple, but it scared the crap out of me.
Nice idea. I am not eligble to take part as you briefly saw in my pulse earlier, however I would like to say good luck to those who are taking part.
Cute topic…. :-> Honest…
My worst/scariest dream/nightmare was while I was fully awake and I won’t indulge myself with boring you with it……..
Keep up the good work here……
mitch
Wait… Do I really get 1k of credits? Not sure I entered……….
Wouldn’t know what to do with them anyway……
……………
oooh.. I’m going to have think about this. I will let you know when or if I manage to do a post. How long is the entry period?
@IamDonnaC - I’d have to check the rules to be sure, but I think it’s through the 14th.
Ohhh this looks like a fun thing to write about…
lol @ you screaming and flailing etc. and props to your wife; agreeing to marry you after that episode!
I wished people would get behind Taken? It shares the same release date.
I can’t ever remember my dreams soooo.
Hey was that pic from Raiders of the Lost Ark?
@vanedave - yup!
@john - I knew it! Love that movie.
@vanedave - me too!
btw, I mentioned raiders and indiana extensively in my post heh. you’ve been revealed to the world as a post skimmer!
@john - please excuse me while I go wipe this egg off my face.
I read like 75% of it. I wouldn’t use the word “extensively” to characterize your use of the movie.
@vanedave - 75% is a lot these days – I appreciate it!
Scary (scarring?) stuff!
When I was a little kid, I had this constant recurring nightmare that happened night after night. In this dream, I went over to my neighboor’s huge house, and they had a petting zoo exhibit going on. I’d go in and play with all the animals, as usual. But at the end of the dream, when I tried to leave, a bear would stop me and say “hold on, you still havent payed your dues”. Then he’d pull down my pants and bite a huge chunk out of my ass. I still dont get it.
I once had a dream where the world was ending and everything was on fire. So while I was on a public school bus coming home it suddenly burst into flame, and I could feel my skin melting and smell my hair burning and everyone around me was screaming in agony.
I am really scared of fire….so it was pretty terrifying.
this makes me not want to sleep, john. srsly.
Mine was about Alien, I’m sure lot’s of people can sympathize
That sucks though, the worst are when you know you aren’t dreaming
I actually had something strange like that happen a few weeks ago. I was sleeping (obviously), no big deal. Then I woke up and was trying to get up and I saw a ghost that basically went “no go back to sleep” and gently pushed me back into my pillow and I fell back asleep. I granted it was probably a dream, but I really don’t know.
Too lazy to post as a comment, gonna post it as a blog
The scariest dream I’ve had was when I was preganant in my dream and my husband wanted to suck the baby out of my stomach through my belly button and eat it 0.0………………
For more details, visit my xanga and read all about it
“I guess that one dream scared all my other dreams away”
hahaha!~
I hate dreams like that. When they seem so real. It like when you wake up, you’re so relieved it wasnt.
In my dream(actually nightmare), I was just lying on my bed daydreaming when this ugly guy
with rotten teeth, a demonic face, sunglasses, and a black trench coat
hovers over me and got about 5 inches away from my face when he
screamed “LOOKS LIKE SOMEONE’S READY FOR THE MORGUE!!!”
The death of my family and friends–and it was my doing.
It haunts me from time to time..
I think I would have peed myself if I had your dream. Haha.
Probably the scariest nightmare I ever had was after watching and reading 30 Days of Night… (worst idea ever, but that movie and book was amazing!)
I live in Maine, so it’s kind of like Alaska (where that movie took place) and that’s where my dream was. We lived in those little wooden houses like I imagined while I was reading the book, and we knew the vampires were coming, so we were hiding up in the attic, but they found us. They were letting some of us go because some of us had better connections, and I was one of the ones that got to escape, but they were only giving us a head start and were chasing after us afterwards. So they were chasing me, and my dream suddenly became a lucid dream, and I realized I could just turn myself into a wolf and outrun them. And so I did. And I ran to a bar where I hid. Then it went back to a normal dream that I couldn’t control, and we all hid down below the bar, and I was down there with everyone else, and my friend was outside, not really doing anything, and I was screaming at her to come down there with us. It was so freaky, because even though there wasn’t a lot of blood and gore, there was that tense, freaked-out feeling of anticipating a brutal attack. It had me sweating when I woke up.
My dreams always take a really long time to talk about =[
hahaha great story..i’mgoing to post mine in my blog soon!hope you read it!I’m gonna try it =)=) seems fun!see yaaa
about four years ago? vampires [and not the recently sexy ones] lived in the lowest level of my high school. i stayed after school… and for some reason i sun sets at 2:30 aka the time school gets out.
it was a night of dream-running and screaming and watching people get dragged down to be eaten.
HOWEVER… my most hated teacher DID get eaten first… so idk. maybe its not as bad as i first thought.
That sounds horrifying and hilarious at the same time, although it would probably be a lot less funny if I’d had the dream. Unfortunately, I forget my dreams as soon as I wake up, unless I make a great effort to remember it as soon as I wake. That rarely happens, though.
Wow, that’s so crazy!! lol. I enjoyed reading it, you added a twist of humor to it.
Well, I wrote mine. I hope it isn’t too creepy for everyone, and I was thinking about not even sharing it. Your’s was pretty scary!!
done posting it =) hope you enjoy
i have a lot of scary based nightmares. They’re about the only ones I ever remember..
But my scariest? I have no idea.I might try and decide on one. When is the last day to enter this?
Oh, didn’t realize I was to post it here:
I went to bed early one evening feeling unusually exhausted.
Strangely, the entire day I felt as though someone or something was
watching me from the corner of my eye. Every time I’d turn to see it,
it’d be gone or all I’d see was a shadow quickly disappearing. I
figured it was just because I was so tired and simply brushed it off.
Before
I was fully asleep, I kept being jolted awake by a strange buzzing and
popping noise followed by odd smells. Not the smell any human would
make, but something along the lines of being spoiled or burnt. After
it happened a few times, I forced myself not to pay attention to it
anymore. Instead I watched the last specks of light peaking through
the blinds move down the wall as night fell and the specks of dust
floating in the air that was lit by the rays of sunlight.
I
didn’t realize I had drifted off to sleep, when I felt something sit
onto the bed. As I began to rouse, a strange feeling overtook me. It
wasn’t an out of body experience exactly – which I have some experience
with – but a sensation of being forced out of my body by whatever had
sat next to me. When I tried to open my eyes, I noticed that I
couldn’t, but in my mind’s eye could see a towering dark form leaning
over me. I felt like it was trying to possess me, I could feel it’s
presence come into my arm and leg. Immediately I began fighting back,
trying to scream and throw my own energy at it as it was at me. I had
a sense that it found this amusing, and so I began praying. The
thought came to me that I should fight it with positive thoughts, and
that’s when the images started shooting through my mind. Images of
people coughing up maggots, rotting bodies, people crawling in their
own waste, demonic faces – it was terrible. In response, I shot images
of all the holy figures I could think of: Jesus, Buddha and the like,
along with such things as puppies, kittens and babies. Finally I was
able to push this thing out of me, and the bed seemed to move. In
response, things in the room rattled and I saw more horrific images in
regards to the most horrible things one could do to another person. I
just kept my thoughts positive, but it didn’t stop. Finally I was able
to open my eyes, and a moment later was able to move. That was indeed
the most horrific and real nightmare I’ve ever had, if that is even
what it was!
:] Nice. Hm, since I’ve never really had a scary dream before (or I forgot them all…) I’ll probably have to pass. Sucks, but this idea seems awesome. I’d like to just go and read all of those stories. :]
i don’t usually reply to these, but this was good
=]
I had demon dreams as well…
-shakes head at the memories- Perhaps I’ll write a book one day.
Oh my god. I cant even post the scariest dream i have ever had because i would probably be taken into care for being insane. Your dream is mild in comparison and you should be glad. My dreams sometimes have come true, too often for me to ignore. I doubt that my dreams would make good reading material to most. I keep most of my dreams to myself, for various reasons… for good reason!
This “competiton” is a joke. If you had dreams anywhere near as terrifying as mine then you wouldnt be posting them, believe me.
@chadwilly - talk is cheap… let’s see whatcha got!
ahhhh…one of those dreams where you’re CONVINCED you’re gonna die or something! haha but this is cool
The nightmare that is the future is one that all shall fear.
Are you an Enlightened One?
That is terrifying! I can’t really contribute, because most of my dreams, while they make sense as they’re happening, are based on some ridiculous premise that doesn’t come across as anything but funny once I’m awake enough to describe them.
wow that’s really scary… your poor wife haha
Excellent story well told. I’m glad I never dreamed about that! I’d be afraid to go to sleep again!
Dreams are always fascinating. How are our minds capable of coming up with such ideas…ideas that usually defy reality?
I am happy to say I have already posted my dream. I look forward to seeing who the winner is.
I just posted mine. Your’s was pretty freaky!
Spider Brain Soup
I find myself in a cylindrical room, my hands pressed against the
blue walls. Searching for some incomplete seal that might set me
free. Water sloshing at my feet about ankle deep, I turn around to
look over my shoulder and I see a man hanging by his feet. He seemed
to be wearing a suit, black pants and a white shirt but before I have
time to notice anything else he opens his mouth wide, with a pop and a
crack he is unhinging his jaw. I press myself against the wall behind
me watching this man creature opening his mouth so wide it looks as
though he’s going to slip right out of his skin.
The
cracking sound stops and he’s dropped into the water, this giant
mouthed creature is approaching me. I’m pushing myself back and back
but there is no where to go. He’s right in my face and I just know
he’s going to swallow me whole. He sets his hand on my leg and I jolt
awake, tangled in my sheets. I still feel the warmth of a hand on my
leg and I shiver keeping my eyes open to rid them of the image of the
mansnake, trying to eat me alive.
Scariest dream: I got a girl pregnant that I didn’t like.
Thanks for alerting me to my dysfunctional link! Hope you made it to my DailyKevin entry anyway!
wow thatz freaky. that seems cool to write about, but I don’t want to think about any of myy nightmares. blegh.
I did it.

Could we post more than 1 nightmare? I remember two of my nightmares vividly. I’m about to post one after this comment. =P
I was taking the kids from Noah’s Ark Summer School to a room so that
they can do their reading time. Before we could enter the two wooden
closed doors, there were men and women standing in a nice black suit
and white dress shirt like attendants.
We waited for a few minutes, then the doors opened. As I was walking in
with the kids, more attendants stood chair by chair. The dark room’s
walls were black and it had a few colored spotlights throughout the
long room. In the middle of the room was a long wooden table, something
you would see as a meeting room of a movie.
As we were all getting seated in our own chair, a lady with long
beautiful blond hair and blue eyes walked out to the front of the room.
She said, “No one is to talk. After fifteen minutes is up, poison gas
would be released.” The kids had a terrified look on them and there was
nothing I could do to help them. Shortly after they closed the doors
and locked it, the last person came walking in. I was shocked to see a
very familiar face.
It was him. While he smiled at me, he sat right across from me. I
smiled back. He missed the announcement from the lady and had no idea
what was going to happen in fifteen minutes. I was frantic in my own
mind because I wanted to tell him about what was going to happen. As I
sat quietly in the room, I saw him taking out his phone to text me. He
asked, “What are you up to?”
I text him back saying, “Nothing much. I want to tell you that they’re
going to kill us by releasing poison gas after fifteen minutes.”
Shortly after he received my message, he looked up at me — as if he
was already prepared to await for his own death. I gestured him
to come closer and sit next to me. He moved around and sat at the end
of the table. That was as close as he could get. I wanted to grab him
by the arm to pull him closer but I was afraid that the people in the
suits would stop us from getting any closer.
I wanted to let him know how much he means to me…
…and that I love him, but it was too late.
When it felt like it has only been five minutes, the same lady
announcer came out and asked, “Are you ready? You can cover up your
nose or hold your breath as long as you can when the poison gas is
released.” She gave a smirk, which seemed like an evil smile. I saw her
pulling the lever, then walked out with the other attendants that were
in the room.
The room was quickly filling up with the gas. I saw all the kids from
held their noses. I followed quickly by holding my nose and held my
breath. I looked over to him. He just looked at me and smiled.
I went deaf on my left ear and slowly, I could not hold my breath any
longer. I could feel the gas filling me up with heat through my eyes,
my nose and my throat. My body froze as death swept over me. I stopped
breathing.
booo i can’t enter because I’m from Canada! (and they think i’m slow, eh?)
my scareist dream I have ever had was I was running free as a bird and I am surrounded by people I love and care. Allf of a sudden I fell in a deep deep dark well and somehow live and started yelling but I couldn’t because my voice was damage? and I had my hands up trying to reach for help… then I woke up.
my most ridiculous dream was…
i saw a long haird man step in my room …
I kept the dream about one year ….then one day I really saw the dream came true!!
Oooh…I can share plenty…I’ll post one tomorrow if I have time. I love scary movies but not bad dreams!!
my dream was terrifying…. it was about yr mom.
Mine’s posted already. http://weblog.xanga.com/daneger_zone/688656249/the-nightmare.html

“Scariest Dream Post” mission completed.
I’ve actually had a couple. In the first one I was kinda standing right under my garage door and my mom and brother came out of the house into the garage, but instead of being themselves they were two hideous demons, kinda like the bad Violator monster from Todd McFarlane’s Spawn
Another dream I had was that I was standing just inside the cul-de-sac where my house is located, looking at a huge Tsunami wave that was hovering over the back of my house, ready to come down on it. I was caught in the wave’s downpour, but it didn’t sweep me away, it just made breathing a little bit hard.
Then in another dream I had I was facing what seemed to be a huge volcanoe, but instead of lava it was spewing out a black liquid that turned into some very hungry pitbull/rottweilers who were heading straight towards their dinner. Unfortuantely dinner was me.
natural skin care is important today do you have any question about that??? If you have any problem about skin care product please go to my site and leave a message haha !!! Thankyou very much!!
Do you want to save yourself?
I have many airsoft gun / combat gear
the worst dreams (or in this case, nightmares) are the ones where you don’t realize you’re dreaming!
Well, my worst dream in recent history was about a saber tooth tiger trying to kill me,
but the lead-up before that was scary too.
There were a bunch of cop cars pulling over white cars and everywhere they pulled over there were scarecrows next to the white cars.
It was really bizarre. The saber tooth tiger was the scariest part though. It was huge. And it bit through my left hand, and I’m left-handed, and then some guy was trying to use me as bait for the tiger.
It’s already posted but it might be my second-to-most recent entry because this is my dream journal.
I blogged ONE of my scariest dreams/nightmares….
good idea, John!
I’m curious, where’d you get that picture of the dude dropping his ice cream? Thanks
Just curious but where’d you get the picture of the guy dropping his ice cream? Thanks.
too bad it is a scary 1.
well my dreams seems to link to one another and it is like an never ending story
probably will last 3 or 4 days for a consecutive dream and I ENJOY it.
my worse nightmare is mainly about getting lost in the middle of somewhere and something just chasing me off.
john’s an idiot.
My dad had this really freaky dream the other night that was very similar to the movie “The Grudge” [and every other movie involving demented figures with long black hair]. In the dream he was in the shower with his back to the showerhead, and when he turned around he saw long black hair draped over the door [to the shower - he has one of those showers that looks like a phone booth, simply put] and over the shower head. Then he turned and looked at the door to the shower and saw a figure pressed against the glass with long black hair covering its face. My dad then started floating and he floated right up over top the shower. The figure moved to the back of the room against the wall. He said it had a pale face with it’s mouth opened like in Edvard Munch’s painting “the Scream”. My dad floated towards it helplessly before he was forced to wake up from the terror of it all. Pretty weird!
this is a great idea. your nightmare was quite scary indeed. mine may not be the most fancy scariest story here but here but here’s mine just to share… (besides i could always use some free movie passes
)
I usually don’t recall much dreams anymore (i used to write them down in a journal) much less all the nightmares i’ve ever had but there are a few that sticks out simply because of the experience and time it has happened…
===
Pre-Dream (Awake):
I was quite young at the age of between six and eight. I remember it being quite hot and humid that day. and being a kid, i squeezed the day away just playing games with my cousin and enjoying a nice meal here and there to satisfy my appetite from excess use of energy. both my parents were out working that day, so the house was empty other than my sis playing somewhere and our maids cleaning and doing some chores. evening came and i grew tired waiting for my dad to come home that i didn’t recall falling deep into sleep in my room…
Dream (Asleep)
As i awoke in my dreams from a blurr (unaware it was in my dreams), i see myself walking in a hallway painted in white. i was feeling at ease because somehow someone was holding my hand as i walked these corridors. i gained the impression that this was the hospital my mom worked for. i started calling then yelling out for my mom as faceless people in white just passed me by as if i was not there at all. perhaps during this time i let go of the hand holding me in panic and started running the halls until noone else was around me but a stretcher to the side in a long hallway with a child in scubs just sitting on top of it looking down next to an open door with a bright light. the child had brown curly hair, was quite pale and sweating prufusely. as i approached closer to him, he slowly turned to look a me and he looked really sick. i stood there frozen not knowing what to do. the child said to me “its all your fault” and his head simply separated from his body and fell. i screamed looking at this headless child sitting upright, turned and started running crying with doors closed every hallway not as lit anymore until i reached two doors that finally let me out into the white light…
… and i awoke, breathing hard, thirsty with my parents and our maid coming to see if i was ok with a glass of water in hand comforting me that it was all just a bad dream. and i felt safe yet still a bit confused and shakened up.
I think beacuase it probably was one of my first deep nightmares and my yet inability to understand the concept of death at that age that made it quite surreal and frightening that i still remember it till today… -k-
I enjoyed writing my entry, but I don’t see it posted on the contest page. Did it perhaps get filtered for a couple of “adult”- type references? That’s just how the dream went. Pretty scary, anyways.
My scariest nightmares are not very scary!! This contest should be fun to watch!
thinkI’m going to add this one to my blog too
How Scary Was It?
I possessed a soldier from some post modern war who stood about five-foot-ten with dusty brown hair, hazel eyes and dirty pale skin. He wore a Special Ops U.S. brain basket, urban fatigues with Canadian flashers and worn out combat boots. The webbing was frayed barely holding the few extra clips and a smoke grenade close to the body and a beaten up aluminum canteen that sloshed with the remaining liquid inside. Around his waist a wide black belt supported a pouch a little larger than a cassette, four pistol clips and a worn out, flat gunmetal blue with pearl handled Colt .45. He carried a UMP .45 equipped with a night vision scope and flash suppressor.
The dream ALWAYS started the same.
Crouched, looking forward I and a team of five crept through a corridor with a gray cinderblock wall pocked with bullet holes to my left and a brown wooden fence to my right or what was left of it anyway. The ground was packed dirt stained with blood and strewn with fragments and remains from the last attempt to take this section of the city. Flashes of light broke through the smoke filled night sky as fighting continued elsewhere in the distance. A narrow ledge of concrete lifted me an extra foot that I might see over the ruined fencing and farther into the battlefield.
Reaching the corner I raised the submachine gun, pressing it firmly against my right shoulder and peered into the lit convex lens. It projected a grayscale image of the entire area to the last detail. I could see insects dodging burning embers that spiraled up from fiery debris. Imperfections in the landscape stood out from the calm of undisturbed foliage. Bodies littered the space between my position and the goal I felt driven to reach at all costs. Glancing to my left I could see other soldiers climbing through windows and poised just outside with their backs against the wall. Men from every nationality I knew formed the defensive perimeter.
Looking across the gap of only a few meters I began to examine every window, every crack large enough to put the barrel of a gun through. I watched for any signs of life, anything that might give the position of the enemy away. The fluttering fronds of a gillie or the warm breath of a hidden warrior, there was nothing.
A pat on my head signaled the advance I was reluctant to respond to. Hesitating for a magic moment when my colleagues entered my weapon’s field of view. My heart tried to smash its way through my chest and I could hear the foot steps of impatient comrades moving around me to press on with the others. A narrow space of darkness stretched like a rubber band tensing with each step of progress made by the line of brave men.
It started with a spark from the darkness as the first of many bullets streaked through the air impacting like being struck by a baseball, pushing the body of an advancing soldier back into the arm of the man behind him who clutched his gun under the other arm and returned fire pulling the wounded man away from harm.
The air was thick with the sounds of gunfire and the voices of those who fought tirelessly to hold their position. Wave after wave of men pressed the attack against a foe they could not see and wave after wave died.
I fired into the abyss picking my shots with carefully calculated accuracy at every dot of light that came from the other side. If I hit anything or not I didn’t know but I did what I could to protect my self and my men. Fragments of high velocity stone disintegrated against my helmet when my position was discovered and molten lead took chunks out of the limited protection I remained behind. Expending the thirty round magazine I released the clip allowing it to fall where it may and slammed a fresh one in its place. Another shot ricocheted off the corner of the building sent me prone with instinctive reflex. I fired rolling out of my hiding place then dragged my torso and legs as my elbows drove and tore at the grass dug into the blood soaked mud in an attempt to reach the line. The stench of death was unlike anything I had ever experienced. Entrails, bits of flesh and bone pressed and cut into my clothing. Crimson sweat stung my roadmap eyes its metallic taste sickened me as it lubricated my parched, cracked lips. The noise became deafening until suddenly it was silent. Not a sound, no screams of anguish, no cries for help, no calls to glory, no shot fired, no lights in the sky, absolutely silent.
I held my place for an eternity, petrified by the thought of someone finding me alive. The idea that my throat would be slit and my tongue pulled through it or beheading me with a knife for public display, caused my body to shiver uncontrollably. I felt cold yet the sweat continued to trickle down my face. Pulling a bloody pulp under my chest I slithered over the dead man inching my way into the unknown. It was all I wanted to do. If I could reach the other side enemy or not I would have better cover and a better chance to survive but I would not make it that far.
At the edge of the line a dyke of the dead and dyeing heaved and quivered like a single organism held back by an invisible force. A force so strong one would think it the largest army on Earth, an army without men with a reach of the most powerful weapon imaginable. Undaunted by persistent bombardment it pushed on the mass of bloodied bodies rolling them like a demented red pastry.
I struggled to keep from being buried alive refusing to turn back or give up the ground I had made. As if I were in a rolling sea I swam up the wave of limbs and torsos in an attempt to reach its crest. Clawing and scraping my arms and legs worked for all their worth until finally my battered soul gripped with fear stood atop looking into the nothingness that was death itself.
I awoke drenched in sweat screaming and yelling, shivering with cold fright. This reoccurring dream repeated itself for many weeks. It was so taxing that I talked to Doctors of all sorts most said, “That is a very out of character… for a kind hearted guy like you that’s very violent…” etc. The dreams finally stopped after almost two years of tormented sleep. On the eve I was diagnosed with bone Cancer due to an injury sustained plugging a stubborn power cord into the wall. My right scapula cracked and broke inward like a soup dish, the clavicle separated from the rotator cuff and the humorous broke like an egg leaving bone chips and damage throughout the shoulder. I am very lucky I still have it and my arm at all.
The message got through realizing it was the battle for my life I was witnessing through my sub consciousness. A battle I was losing…until I was made aware of it. They call it Multiple Myeloma, an incurable bone marrow cancer that would have eventually killed me in my sleep. Although there is no cure I am celebrating my 5th year of total remission. It’s been almost ten years since those terrible dreams but I know what to do if they ever come back and I hope that they never come back.
Peace all
LOL I CANT STOP LAUGHING
the other night i had a dream that it was the end of the world. a disease had broken out and my parents had sent away my sister and i to new communities and got a new “disease-free” kid. we didn’t understand why we got sent away so we both made our way home. because of the terrible condition of the world, our parents were living under a pavilion type thing. they told us to get out or they’d kill us, so we started to leave. all of a sudden, it started snowing like crazy so my sister ran out into the snow. a split second passed before she started screaming and ran back inside. it was acid snow. when she got back inside she had somehow turned into a black man. then i woke up. afterwards, i was getting my shower, and was still half-asleep, and still afraid that it might actually be the end of the world and that everyone else just didn’t know it. that was the scariest dream i’ve ever had.

So uh, why didn’t I get my 1,000 credits?
I dreamt that it was me that was to negotiate with the crazy dictator of North Korea. But whatever good idea I said to him, he ignored, and sent the nukes to America anyway which of course triggered a nuclear response back, and when it was happening, the last thing I said was “you really are the devil”, and he began to look like like a devil.
I just wrote an entry on this!
But… how come it is not showing up?
That was an interesting nightmare.
The scariest dream I had ever had was just a little over a week ago. It was so realistic.
Basically I was at home doing what I usually do: computer, eat, television, homework, nap, etc. I was sitting at my computer when all of a sudden my power goes out. It’s pitch black outside and all the street lamps outside are out as well. It’s pitch black everywhere, and I cannot see anything whatsoever. Nobody else is home with me, but I hear the upstairs floor creaking. (In reality it creaks so loud when someone is walking around up there) I start panicking because I know for a fact nobody else is home and the floor couldn’t creak that loud without anybody being up there. I’m downstairs and I go into my bathroom, shut the door and lock it. I don’t know exactly where I am in the bathroom, but I make my way to the shower but I bump into something. I don’t remember what it was, but it wasn’t really important anyways. I run out of the bathroom frightened but can’t get out. There is no longer a door knob, or a door, i’m just in pitch black box with no way to get out. All of a sudden an explosion echoes through the box and my body fills with pain. The black box I’m trapped in cracked open and I crawled out. I run to the back of my house where the garage is, but I’m shook with pain as an explosion roars again. Bombs were going off outside my house and I had no way out. I tried standing up but a black figure pulled me down and covered my eyes, my nose, and my mouth. I couldn’t breath and I couldn’t struggle any longer. I just gave up, and died….
Then I woke up. It was so realistic though because I don’t recall falling asleep, but I did.
I just have to say about your nightmare its seems like a commong thing my family and friends get. In viet we call it ‘ma de’ or something like that, my spelling in Viet sucks. It translates somewhat to Ghost supressing. I’ve never had one of the ghost supressing but my sister whose had a couple told me that in the dreams you see the dead/ghost and they basically ‘attack’/freak you out as much as possible.
My sister said that, as obvious its all in your head. But if you still can’t use that philosophy to sleep then heres where my family does. When ever they’re ebing supressed they just start chanting in their mind. Some use prayers, or others sing a simple, song, poem, story, ect. Basically the point is to change your thought to another and basically your out of the bad dream! My sister uses this and said her supressings never last more than a minue because she just starts praying for a bit and it all goes away.
Funny/ironic/not so funny story. The other day my dad had a supressing dream. But he forgot the basics and said he just started freaking out. He was like that for supposedly half an hour until my aunt woke him up. Lol?
Just basically remember to stay calm as possible and always have something prepared and use it to distract your mind. Its all in your mind!
I used to have a recurring dream where I was chased by a giant potato.
I know, it sounds ridiculous. But it was terrifying for me.
I’m not sure it applies to all dreams, but dreams often carry a message.
This posting was soooo creepy!

I dreamed I was pregnant

Miss ya bro, call me sometime.
Things are doing great.
We need to get a drink.
The scariest dream I ever had in my life? I don’t remember most of them by I do remember this one.
A few days ago, I was watching Rattle Rattle is a short story taken from the kowai onna (Unholy women) series. Anyhow, I was really excited about going back to school the new day so I try to fall asleep. Every time I close my eyes I saw the image of her in my head, with her red dress flowing in the air and long nails stretching my feet. I managed to fall asleep or so I remembered. I looked up and I saw someone standing with their back in front of my bed posted.
I scream out loud in my dream…
Than I woke up and I was too screaming.
I think the scariest recent dream I have had was maybe three years ago when I dreamt that i was in a treehouse and it fell over. oooh, so scary! but whats weird is I had a dream about a gang fight and I wasnt scared at all! I just left. Which is weird for a dream.
Man, I watch too many Asian scary movies, go check mine out, john. Those movies get to my head so easily. I even hallucinated once because of it.
Oh hell, that sounds friggin scary. I think what you went through is called a “sleep paralysis” where your mind is awake/asleep but your body is sleeping/awake (your mind and body are always doing the opposite in this case, which is why you feel like you’re not asleep but your mind thinks you are…make any sense? lol.)
I’ve had those, not common though, only when I’m super tired/stressed…
Hey I did the extra credit post and never got my credits…this is not the first time I’ve done an extra credit post, I did one of those widgets before, and never got the credits. Is this a scam or something?? When the heck do I get my credits JOHN?
teehee, your picture reminds me of casper. wasn’t he the cutest ghost ever?
i had such a huge crush on jonathan taylor thomas — i’ve never wanted to have sex with a ghost so badly.
OKay. I tried reading about your dream and this pop up about Dominos $5.99 deal kept coming up… I couldn’t get rid of it. And now I will never know what your dream was!.. :[ I will try again later. I have TERRIFYING dreams...which is why I love dreamcatchers so much. I have so many in my room. . .even one tattooed on my back. I could write a million stories of dreams that I have had... Some you wouldn't believe were really dreams. Sigh. Need a dream catcher?I have plenty heh. They don't really protect you from bad dreams.. I should know. :]
sooooooo scary -____- i woulda fainted.
2 nights ago, i made out with obama in my dream, in his white house office while my mom was watching. that was pretty damn scary.
