SUBSCRIPTION UPDATES
Two updates on the Subscriptions front:
1) ALPHABETICAL ORDER
You can now alphabetize your Subscriptions with a single click:
Heck, we figured some of you might want to sort your Subs by “Last Updated” too. So we threw that in there too… enjoy!
2) RENAMED SUBSCRIPTION LINKS
When we renamed the “Sites I Read” as “Subscriptions”, we started getting reports that some users couldn’t read or edit their Subscriptions.
We looked into this, and in turned out that in almost all cases a “word replace” JavaScript Code has been installed. Somehow, that script interfered with the word “subscriptions” in various links. Our initial recommendation to troubled users was to remove the script.
But we wanted to take care of our users, so we removed the word “subscriptions” from all of our links. So for example, subscriptions.aspx is now subs.aspx. If you have any bookmarks out there, don’t worry – we’ve set up redirects for any old URLs, so you shouldn’t notice any difference.
Two other small nits: we heard that Netscape 7.0 and Safari users were having trouble uploading profile pics, so we patched that up. And someone made a script which auto-joined you to a blogring. We’ve disabled the JavaScript that made this possible…

John – just a suggestion, but is there any way that the new “calendar” – the “select a date” format – can be put in skins? I don’t like the old calendar, I like being able to select the date in the archives, and Sean’s old code for it doesn’t work. Is it just a skins problem?

i got a prob that i’m asking ppl to fix. this xanga that i’m commenting on is busted. something happened with the codes and now it is linking to someone else’s xanga and i can’t get in at all. i can’t write any entries or anything. i had deleted all the codes and everything on my xanga, but still, no one can view it. i cannot do anything. perhaps u can help me fix the prob. if u check my xanga, u can c how it directs u to someone else’s xanga. please help me.

hey john. i came from add_ons, and though i’m not the owner of that page, i found the no ads script on this page: http://forum.blogring.net/index.php?showtopic=3182 the best one to use is the last entry commented by aznxdarkricex. the other one (boogie boogie) works but it leaves errors on your page. i hope that helps.

i think you should create a service where people could request a print-out version of their xanga entries, for a charge. it could be mailed to a provided address. hopefully you read your comments..

yes! thank you so much! i went to blogring.net to try to get the html that made alphabetized subscription lists possible, but everytime i added it onto my xanga, it screwed up my subscriptions list. for exacmple, my friend james’s xanga link would be where my picture used to be, and my friend sammie would be right below my last posts… it really was screwed up, and i had to ultimately remove the html to get it all fixed up… so thank you soooooo much!

Under “General Subscriptions Settings” – I really want to be able to choose the format of the e-mails I receive — I use a text emailer and it is IMPOSSIBLE to read the HTML formatted emails in elm — please give us the option — not everyone needs to read HTML e-mail.
Also, when I get my subscription updates via e-mail, the content of the posting is squeezed into a 200 pixel wide column on the left and the right side of the page is full of all sorts of Xanga news and tips — but it is never as long as the subscription content column to the left (which is impossible to read like this btw).

So how do I get rid of it and be able to view my site again?

I’m new to xanga, and i got a trail for xanga preminum for like a few weeks or days, last time i checked was 4 days and today i went back to see if i still got xanga preminum and you know under the New weblog entries, Public Preview, and Get X Tools theres a message that say “Thanks” Is it cause The trail is over or I subscribe to xanga preminum? If I didn’t subscribe to preminum and I still have preminum can I quit? I’m rather confuse I didn’t subscribe to xanga preminum so why is it that I a message “Thanks”? Props back.

Ok…”John” i believe we have a problem in our dear Xanga Community. I recently found out that Classic Xanga members are restricted on customization and that some codes are disabled for their pages. I see your name listed all the time on the Xanga front page…so I thought that you could help for this concern. Please, give back rights to Classic members. Giving only rights to Premium users is, well…for lack of better words unfair. In the long run, Classic members will just leave Xanga for this. And you’ll have no one to join Premium in the end.

I have an idea! I don’t know if this is possible, but I think that there should either more catagories for the blogrings, or there should be a way for Xangan’s to make new catagories. It would make some blogrings easier to find! I don’t know if you are the right person to tell, of if you will even see this! But I think that this needs to be done!
