Quick Updates
I’ll be posting about the site maintenance soon on TheXangaTeam, but I wanted to share a few quick updates:
- We’re moving our hardware around within our network facility, which is why we’re doing all this site maintenance lately. It should be done within a day or so, and we’ll be back on track.
- I saw some reports that pulse comments stopped going through a few minutes ago… we’ll get that fixed asap!
- I feel like I should have three updates, but I only have two.
Will keep you all posted! I also have some followup posts on Xanga Ideas I’m working on, so more updates on that soon too

John, every once in awhile my wife decides to move the furniture around and we have some of these same problems. We can’t find anything. My point is that maybe you should just keep the hardware in the same place.
Feel free to disregard my thoughts on this issue because my wife always does.

@TheTheologiansCafe - Our lease has expired in our current space… so we’re moving to a new space in the same facility, at a much better price (yay, Great Depression 2!).
Moving is always a drag… sorry to everyone for putting you through this!
@john - I was just joking. I knew you probably had to move the stuff for a reason. I am sorry you have to move your stuff. I would offer to come and help but I might break a server or two.
I hope poor Natalie is not moving all of that stuff while you are chatting with us online.
@TheTheologiansCafe - Ah just clarifying! I’d prefer not to move servers either… I’m sure Dan and Jon dislike it more though! They are doing all the actual physical lifting…
how come i cant send pulses from my phone? the msg gets sent, but then hours later i get a text back saying that the server doesnt exist? i used to be able to post pulses from my phone…. whats going on? am i the only one having this problem?

@seedsower - Ah we’re not moving offices… we’re moving our servers around within our existing network facility. It should all be invisible to users, other than a bit more maintenance than usual!
Oh d’oh ,I was afraid that you would not get next years Christmas card if I had the wrong floor.Maybe you didn’t even get the one from this year,I did send one.
I’d love to see what you have to say about Ideas. I konw that a lot of the existing ideas need to be merged or closed. Also, we need an update on what’s currently being worked on and what has been completed.
Let me know if you need a hand. Will work for food.

Talk about moving around…It’s good.. been there done it. It must be fun doing lots of bullet proof testing

Technically moving the servers is not really maintenance unless they were dusting off the servers….
The new place for the servers has air conditioning there too? I wonder how many servers serves xanga in that room? That is probably a trade secret….
speaking of idea…do you think a chat/IM function will be feasible for xanga?
