XANGA AROUND THE GLOBE
We’ve started the process of internationalizing Xanga!Now thanks to Janet, the photo, video, and audio pages all support Chinese, Japanese, Korean, and Spanish. When you’re on those pages, you should see a “language” link in the header. Just click on that, and you’ll be able to choose the language you want.
We had a lot of help from our bi/tri-lingual friends: Chris, Dave, and Mary – along with Cindy, Darcy, Freddy, Jeff, Jin, my Mom, Ryoko, and Scott…. thanks guys! We learned a lot, and will be bringing that knowledge to globalizing more and more pages over the next month or two

I’m glad you don’t believe English should be the only language on Xanga. The world is much too diverse to ever try to narrow any place down to only one language.

I would say Latin but I’m a nerd
more realistically, I would like to see languages like Hebrew or Arabic, but I don’t know how hard it is to get all those non roman alphabet characters to work on everyone’s computer. I’m no computer geek though so it might just be very easy and I’m unaware of it.

This kind of goes to also the What is Xanga question. But because of Xanga I have been able to connect with ordinary and wonderful citizens from around the world. Adding in the language support takes it that much further in bringing more people to the world party. German and French would be really neat. Maybe arabic and hebrew too. Getting more peole talking is always a good and noble thing. I doff mein chapeau to everyone at Xanga.

Good. Now everyone will know what the heck Mandystarz is talking about.
Whatever language it is in which you actually answer questions from your consumers. I’d gladly sacrifice “cool” features for better service.
One more vote for French.
Oh yeah, I noticed something.
Set the language to ANY language other than English,
and when you look at the the menu, the target language’s link will be in that language itself.
e.g. Spanish will be written as “Espanol”
However, when it’s set to English, the languages’ links are in English.
I wonder why you guys made it like this.

I feel strange about using a chinese interface in my Xanga. In fact, I like English interface much more than a Chinese one. Can I permanently set my Xanga language in English? I don’t feel good on looking a Chinese Xanga.
But I think this is quite a good idea to globalize Xanga.=]

PROBLEMS !!!
it seems not after using Chinese interface; something wrong with the diection !! when I clikc “next 5″ …it doesn’t show my old entries !!!! same probelms occur when I reading my frd’s xanga too !

Thanks for the hardwork but honestly I (and most of the people I know) do not like the idea of changing xanga’s language to Chinese. That’s odd and kind of shocking
